As I was strolling this morning, the heaviness of our past weighed heavily on my mind. And at that moment, a vivid picture came to me - a storage room overflowing with boxes filled with our memories. One after another, stacked upon each other, holding the weight of our hardships, traumas, and bitterness. But some among us are unwilling to let go of these boxes, hoarding these moments in time with their minds completely consumed by the past. Year after year, they spend extra money to add more storage space, refusing to let go even of the smallest box.
Now, I am not suggesting that we forget the past entirely. It is essential to keep a little memory book to remember what we have overcome, to recollect the fire we have walked through and emerged victorious. However, when our spirits are so cluttered with the past, how can we create room for the present and future? How can we make space for the things God has called us to do, for the aspirations, dreams, and passions coming our way, if we still allow the past to consume us?
From cluttered to clarity: finding freedom in releasing the past, it is time to start decluttering those storage boxes filled with negative memories. We can release the burden and create space for the things God has called us to do. So, let's take the first step and start going through those boxes today. Your future self will thank you for it.
