I want to share a personal journey with you all – one that's been instrumental in my recent growth. It's about facing fears, overcoming insecurities, and finding strength in vulnerability.
For the longest time, I've harbored a deep fear of being in front of the camera, especially when it comes to speaking live. This fear stems from an old insecurity of mine, rooted in having a speech problem when I was younger. Despite spending five years in speech therapy to overcome it, the insecurity still lingers. Sometimes, when I'm super sleepy, my speech slips up, and I pronounce words the way I did back when I was six.
This insecurity has often led me to prefer writing over other forms of communication. But recently, I decided enough was enough. I took a leap of faith and went live on TikTok for the first time. Standing in front of the camera, with all those old insecurities bubbling to the surface, was nerve-wracking. But I did it.
My first TikTok live was right in front of the iconic Bellagio Fountains in Vegas. Sweaty, terrified, and feeling like I might just throw up, I pushed through. And you know what? I survived.
Since then, I've gone live eight times. Yes, there were moments without any makeup or a game plan – definitely a 'yikes' moment! But with each experience, it's become easier. I've faced that fear head-on, and I've come out on the other side feeling stronger and more empowered.
Now, I'm passionate about passing along this message – the importance of pushing through moments of discomfort, facing our fears, and embracing our vulnerabilities. Because it's through those moments that we grow, that we discover our strength, and that we inspire others to do the same.
